On the markets, the NZX 50 has closed down 33 points to 3254.
AMP down 60c to $ 8.50, ANZ down $1.94 to $ 23.01, Air New Zealand down 4c to $1.24, Contact down 35c to $8.12, F&P Healthcare down 5c to $2.57, Fletcher Building down 22c to $6.69, Goodman Fielder down 2c to $1.70, Guinness Peat down 2c to $1.36, Lion Nathan down 15c to $11.16, Telstra down 6c to $5.63, Vector down 3c to $2.08 and Westpac down $1.20 to $27.50.
Auckland Airport up 4c to $1.92, Infratil up 9c to $2.24, NZFSUL up 7c to $1.82, New Zealand Oil & Gas up 3c to $1.54, PGG Wrightson up 7c to $2.60, Ryman Healthcare up 2c to $1.66, Telecom up 2c to $3.49 and TrustPower up 10c to $7.70.
The dollar is buying 74.19 US cents, 77.44 Australian cents, 47.29 euro cents, 79.30 yen and 37.36 pence.
The 90 day bank rate is 8.32 percent and the TWI is at 66.17.
