Staff in another big industry are planning strike action.
Ministry of Fisheries staff including officers who protect fishing stocks from poachers, are considering industrial action. Their union says they have a number of concerns about their pay, travel allowances, annual leave and fitness testing. But Spokesman Martin Cooney says a settlement hasn't been reached after 10 months of negotiations.
Negotiations resume on Wednesday but if a settlement is not reached, a two week campaign of industrial action will begin, including a series of one day strikes.
