SINGAPORE, July 25 Asia Pulse - Foreign Advisor Dr. Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, who is also in charge of the Ministry of Overseas Employment and Expatriates Welfare, has welcomed the decision of Bahrain to lift the ban on the employment of Bangladeshi workers.
"It was a decision that reflects our close brotherly ties. You will recall I had addressed several letters to Bahrain Ministers urging this decision, and also spoken to them. It seems our diplomatic efforts have borne fruit," he said in a statement in Singapore where he is currently attending an ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial Conference.
However, Iftekhar reiterated the need for the Bangladeshi workers everywhere to abide by the laws, rules and regulations of the host countries.
