This report finds that Taiwanese small- and medium-sized TFT-LCD panel shipment volume recorded significant growth in the second quarter of 2009 thanks to stable growth in the emerging markets and substantial growth of Chinese non-brand mobile phone export. Anticipating the peak-season demand at the year-end, it is expected that 2009 Taiwanese small- and medium-sized TFT-LCD panel shipment volume will peak in the third quarter. Nevertheless, if Chinese market demand does not pick up during the October holidays, it is expected that fourth-quarter shipment volume will see little growth on excessive inventory buildups.
