Ice cream maker Diane Foreman has been named entrepreneur of the year.
The judges said they were impressed with the diversity of the industries she has been involved in, which include food, health and property.
Foreman's company, Emerald Group, makes the New Zealand Natural ice cream brand. The product is sold in 680 stores in 21 countries.
Foreman will now represent New Zealand in the World Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Monte Carlo next year.
