Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/2c2894/china_sourcing_rep) has announced the addition of the "China Sourcing Report: Baby Travel & Care Products" report to their offering.
China suppliers of baby travel and care products are getting ready for an upsurge in overseas demand. Buoyed by improving trade and business conditions, many intend to raise their allocations for R&D, promotional activities and facility upgrades in coming months.
In some sectors, higher tax rebates are also encouraging companies to take this step right now for long-term competitiveness. Financial products and credit policies supporting SMEs are fueling investment as well.
A number of suppliers are directing efforts toward strengthening their foothold in North America and the EU. The two areas remain key destinations for several lines, despite the slowdown of shipments sent there in the past year.
This report covers the major baby travel and care products exported from China, namely feeding bottles and accessories, diapers and changing supplies, bathtubs and potties, playpens and other safety devices, and transport systems such as sling carriers, strollers and car seats.

The two areas remain key destinations for several lines, despite the slowdown of shipments sent there in the past year. China customs statistics on strollers and related parts, for instance, show these markets accounting for 65 percent of export revenue during the seven-month period ending July 2009. For cotton diaper sales, they contributed more than 40 percent.
Emerging economies in the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Central and South America will also be a target of several enterprises. In some categories, these regions have been instrumental in keeping businesses afloat as orders from the US and the EU weakened.
The following are some of the key trends we see among suppliers of baby travel and care products in China as they try to boost overseas shipments:
Consumer concerns about child safety, whether supported or not by legislation, will be a key driver of R&D work at most companies. For raw materials, in particular, more options without lead, phthalates and BPA are anticipated. As regards design, ergonomics, greater ease of use, functionality and visual appeal will be emphasized.
In line with efforts to increase product safety, improvements on manufacturing and quality management systems to ensure compliance with stricter standards will be one of the areas receiving higher allocations. Several stroller suppliers, in fact, have already begun purchasing equipment for evaluating a model's wheel performance, dynamic durability and impact resistance.
Spending for third-party testing and certification of manufacturing inputs and finished products is projected to remain on an upswing as well. At present, this type of expenditure is 20 to 30 percent higher than it was in 2008.
Operating efficiency is expected to improve in line with makers' efforts to keep prices stable and boost overall competitiveness.

A description of the supplier base can be found in the segments as well. The Industry Overview identifies factors affecting production and exports, and the strategies companies are implementing in the face of these challenges and opportunities.
To reflect the industry structure, the majority of suppliers interviewed for this report are based in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangsu.
