Australia shares up 0.7 percent, Westfield gains

WELLINGTON, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Australian stocks rose 0.7 percent on Thursday, with shopping mall owner Westfield Group (ASX: WDC.ax) up as it said its main markets are stabilising.

The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO gained 31.7 points to 4,788.7 at 2312 GMT, after rising 0.5 percent on Wednesday.

New Zealand's benchmark NZX 50 index .NZ50 rose 0.4 percent to 3,174.2. (Reporting by Adrian Bathgate)
